The Stop-a-Clog does not catch more than a few hairs - my hair is thick, but the strands are fine (not coarse). The hair either slips down the drain between the suction cups, or slides down through the large slits in the side of the drain protector.Since 2 drain protectors were in the package, I placed the second catcher kind of cross-wise on top of the first, which was attached to the bottom of the tub with the suction cups. If the second protector is laid over top so that they are NOT lined up (lay the suction cups of the second one in between the suction cups of the first), it catches more hair than if only one catcher is used. But the suction cups of the second one can't be pressed down, so without a seal you still have hair slipping down the drain. Read more 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful  Can't believe that I'm talking about my love for a drain trap, but . . ., This review is from: Two Stop-A-Clog Drain Protectors (Baby Product) . . . when I lost the one I had I searched the internet to find the exact same one. This is the best drain trap I've found in many years of buying such things. It won't work over a pop-up drain plug, though. Otherwise, just follow the directions (i.e., you have to keep your tub fairly clean for it to adhere). I throw it in the washer once a week in a hot cycle as well to keep the suction cups clean. In spite of all of this, mold eventually begins to grow in the crevices but you can clean it out with a Q-tip.
