He hated it and I didn't blame him especially since it was MY hair clogging the drain...LOL. He suggested I look for a hair catcher so I had purchased a plastic hair catcher from a store but it really didn't catch too much. Thanks to the reviews, I bought this metal one from Ace Hardware on Amazon.com and it's great. Okay, so it's not the most pleasant thing to clean but I must say it's much better than digging in the drain! They are well constructed without any sharp edges to get hurt on. The outer band is made of a combination steel and aluminum. Clean up is a real snap. Just use a tissue or cloth and swipe clean, just a very quick rinse and your done. I suggest that you leave this strainer in a dry area when not in use. This will prevent any possibility of rust. There seems to be a protective type coating on them anyway. Buy Today and Enjoy Clog Free Stains!! P.S. They come in a matched pair of (2). The amount of hair going down the drain has decreased a great deal. Just place the catcher over the drain and it does the rest. Cleaning it was not difficult and if you do it basically every single time you take a shower, it takes moments and never builds up into a clump at all. Definitely recommend. This review is from: Two Stop-A-Clog Drain Protectors (Baby Product) We had the drain in our tub replaced, and now have the pop-up kind. The Stop-a-Clog does not catch more than a few hairs - my hair is thick, but the strands are fine (not coarse). The hair either slips down the drain between the suction cups, or slides down through the large slits in the side of the drain protector. Since 2 drain protectors were in the package, I placed the second catcher kind of cross-wise on top of the first, which was attached to the bottom of the tub with the suction cups. If the second protector is laid over top so that they are NOT lined up (lay the suction cups of the second one in between the suction cups of the first), it catches more hair than if only one catcher is used. But the suction cups of the second one can't be pressed down, so without a seal you still have hair slipping down the drain. This is the best drain trap I've found in many years of buying such things. It won't work over a pop-up drain plug, though. Otherwise, just follow the directions (i.e., you have to keep your tub fairly clean for it to adhere). I throw it in the washer once a week in a hot cycle as well to keep the suction cups clean. In spite of all of this, mold eventually begins to grow in the crevices but you can clean it out with a Q-tip. I've noticed that my drains don't need clearing as much since I've begun using this trap.
